EARLY SEMESTER CHECK OUT PROCEDURES
General Attendance Information
To release a student that drives, please call the attendance office on the day of check out. Also, please send a note with the student so they can leave class. The student should come to the attendance office at the time of check out to sign out and leave campus. Students may NOT check out with only a written note; a parent or guardian must be contacted. Students who are sick and want to check out must go to the CLINIC to check out with the school nurse. Students may NOT use cell phones during the school day to call parents to check out. the school nurse will contact the parent or guardian. If the student drives, they will be allowed to leave with parental consent. Students who use their cell phones during the school day are subject to disciplinary action. All students who are absent or checked out need to bring a written excuse back to the attendance office when they return to school. However, a parent note does not excuse the absence; these will still count against the 9 days if no doctor or court excuse is not presented. If the student goes to the doctor, dentist, course, etc., please ask for a written excuse for the absence so it will not count against the 9-day attendance policy. Receipts cannot be accepted for an excuse. Seniors are allowed three (3) excused days for college visits. A written excuse on the college letterhead will be accepted for the excused day. Parking stickers, handouts from the college, or plane tickets cannot be accepted for excuses. "Do not count" absences include:
If the student has a death in the family, please send a copy of the obituary and a note stating the days of absence. |
